The Cape Flats Townships of South Africa Oct 2002
Photography is a very varied medium – providing the
means to bring us heart rending pictures of news events at
one moment and the ability to capture heart-stirring artistic
images of beauty at another – all the while of course,
for many families, it provides the most important means of
giving substance to our memories. In this article Peter and
Derek Madeley take a photo-essay approach to a project on
a recent visit to South Africa.
