Mere WWT - A good location for easy waterfowl photography
in a large collection. In the winter huge flocks of whooper
swans congregate near the hides at feeding time

Donna
Nook - Best known for its colony of Grey seals,
best visited from October to January, though seals are present
all year round. Please contact the warden before visiting this
site and check tide times and heights.

LNR - This land has been recovered from an industrial
estate. the ponds make a great habitat for dragon and damselflies
and during the summer it is a prime location for butterfly photography.

WWT Dumfries, Geese galore, Swans a plenty and
tame hedgerow birds. Badger watching from the Farmhouse at night
make this a fabulous winter location. |
Gait
Barrows NNR - A fine example of a mature Limestone
Pavement. There is a Trail around the reserve to follow though
permits are needed to walk directly on the main pavement. Lots
of dwarf plant species and a wonderful butterfly glade.
